Yesterday I had the pleasure to see the revival of The Gospel at Colonus, directed by Lee Breuer, with music composed by Bob Telson. The performance is a black #musical version of #Sophocles's #tragedy, #Oedipus at Colonus. The show was originally premiered at #BAM ‘s #NextWaveFestival in 1983, had a run in #Broadway in ‘88, traveled the world and now is produced by The Public Theater.

In how many performances of Oedipus the audience danced with the chorus?

After the show I had the opportunity to hear amazing stories from the cast about how this production changed peoples lives.

Lee Breuer just said that after the show he hopes “there is more love than hate in the world tonight”.
